Are you taking part in the Cross Bay Walk?

Families and businesses across the bay are being encouraged to take part in the Cross Bay Walk to raise much needed funds in support of local hospitals charity.

Local legend and Queen’s official guide, Cedric Robinson MBE, will be leading around 300 intrepid walkers across the Bay to raise money for Bay Hospitals Charity.

Setting off from Arnside Promenade and arriving at Kent’s Bank, the walk is approximately eight miles and takes around three – four hours. Cedric will guide you across the Bay following a safe route which will be set out as soon as the tide leaves the shore on the day of the challenge. This annual sponsored walk takes place on Saturday 7 July 2018, starting at 12pm (registration opens at 11am.)

Judith Read, Charity Coordinator, Bay Hospitals Charity, said: “The Cross Bay Walk is a fabulous way to raise money for your local hospitals. As the NHS turns 70 on 5 July, this is a great way to celebrate, keep fit and give a little back.

“I would like to thank our expert guide Cedric in advance. He has been leading our walks for many years and you will be in very capable hands.”

Bay Hospitals Charity is a registered charity, raising money to improve patient care and hospital experience at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust hospitals. Every day incredible things happen across our hospitals, but this is not without cost. By donating to Bay Hospitals Charity you can fund the latest equipment and help make your local hospitals more comfortable, ensuring you get the best possible care and treatment.
