Remembering staff across the bay who are no longer with us

On Wednesday 21 November we are asking staff to remember colleagues who have contributed to local healthcare over the years who are sadly no longer with us.

Staff at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) and our Bay Health and Care Partners are invited to take part in a two-minute silence at 2pm.

If staff would like to pay respects to someone special to them, they can light a candle in our chapels across our sites or hang a message on our memory trees which are located in our restaurants at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital and Furness General Hospital.

Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive, UHMBT, said: “This year we are marking 70 years of the NHS – and we have been celebrating here at UHMBT the past, present and future of local healthcare.

“Today is about remembering all of those special people who have dedicated their careers to drive local healthcare and make services the best possible for our patients.”

On 5 July 2018, the Trust joined other health organisations around the country to mark 70 years of the NHS as part of NHS England’s NHS 70 celebrations. As part of our celebrations we are sharing stories from our long-serving members of staff. The Trust is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
